RIIWHS302E IMPLEMENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS – LEVEL 2

Overview

This is the official Traffic Management Implementer (TMI) course you need to complete to work as a TMI within the Traffic Management industry on Queensland roads.

We’re a government Registered Training Organisation with first-rate trainers from real world backgrounds.

This course consists of 1 day of theoretical in classroom training, you are then required to complete the supervisor report (3 practical site-set ups) which is provided upon completion of theory training. Learning Goals

To get you ready to work as a skilled Traffic Management Implementer. You’ll learn the foundational real world skills needed to understand a Traffic Management Plan and Implement a Traffic Guidance Scheme.

• Team communication and responsibility
• Signage set out and removal
• Site safety
• Traffic flow monitoring

Requirements

Students must hold a current driver’s licence valid in Queensland and General Construction Induction Training Card (CPCWHS1001 White Card or industry equivalent, e.g. Blue Card).

Students enrolling into this course acknowledge that they have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to ACSF Level 2.

Students also need to complete 2 online short courses (links below) which are operated by The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR). All fees and enrolments are managed directly by TMR.

Students need to show certificates of completion for both parts 1 and 2 before we can issue your TMI card:

1. Working in Proximity to Traffic Part 1 – Awareness
2. Working in Proximity to Traffic Part 2 – Works Protection Methods

Course Delivery

Undergo 1 day of theoretical classroom-based training. Following this, you are required to complete 3 practical site-setups alongside a qualified and experienced TMI. Please note the 3 site-setups are not included in the course fee. If wish to complete the practical component with GTS, please contact the office directly for further information.

Qualification Achieved

Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive your Statement of Attainment for:

RIIRIS301E Apply Risk Management Processes

TMI cards are issued by GTS.

Certificate Validity

Upon issuing of the TMI card, your expiry is listed on the card and has a validity of 3 years, please note that you cannot continue working on an expired card.
